You've Already Got What You Need
Ever catch yourself saying, "Man, if I only had "x" I could do "z"? Or, "I wish I had "a", so I could do "b"? I catch myself doing this all the time. It is a really bad habit that I need to break. I say I believe the Bible is all true, but then I believe lies that I dont have what I need. Paul says it best in 2 Corinthians 9:8:
God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.
What lies have you believed about what you don't have? It says right there you have all you need to abound in every good work. The Greek word here for abound is "perisseuo" and it means to superabound (in quantity or quality), be in excess, be superfluous; also to cause to superabound, increase, or be more abundant. Dang! All this time I have believed the lies that I am lacking, and I really have a superabundance? Wow. Thank you Jesus for providing all I need. May I not forget that I have it all the time.
